If this is your first visit to our site, here is an official welcome to The Saving Angels Blog. The Saving Angels is a Pretoria-based non-profit charity geared towards impacting the lives – and hearts – of children across South Africa. Our founding members, Zita and Candice, founded the organisation in July 2020. They work tirelessly to reach out to their extensive networks, making sure the foundation meets each target that is set.
So we’re kind of new on the charity scene, but believe us when we tell you that our wings stretch far and wide. Zita and Candice will go mountain high and valley low to achieve this charity’s mission: impacting lives one heart at a time. And our volunteers donate hours of their time which contributes to the success of each project we undertake.
The Saving Angels strive to assist infants and children (from birth to 18 years old) living below the poverty line with basic needs like clothing, toiletries and school supplies. We achieve this through various themed donor drives and fundraising events held throughout the year. The proceeds are then donated to children’s charities in the community.
Okay, so now that you’re up to speed on who we are and what we do, here’s what we’ve been up to lately.
On 29 September 2021, The Saving Angels Foundation successfully hosted its first Annual Charity Golf Day at the Wingate Country Club in Pretoria East. This was The Saving Angels’ first official fundraising initiative, with the purpose of funding the projects lined up for 2022.
Needless to say, golf day was a roaring success – 28 four balls attended and we met our fundraising target.
And in true Saving Angels fashion, we give credit where it is due. This fabulous fundraiser would not have lifted off the ground without Zita and Candice who seamlessly co-ordinated the entire day, and our team of dedicated volunteers who made sure everything went according to plan. Finally, an enormous thanks to our incredibly generous sponsors, without whom this golf day would not have been possible. Among our many generous donors was Naledi Game Lodge, who donated a weekend getaway to the value of R22 000.
The Saving Angels Foundation has been so fortunate to be surrounded by networks of generous and empathetic donors and sponsors who have contributed to bringing Zita and Candice’s vision for the foundation to life.
Hence, we have a number of projects and fundraisers lined up for this year already. Our first mission for 2022 is the Winter Drive, which is currently underway. Our aim is to keep 420 children warm this winter with a Saving Angels branded beanie, scarf and gloves. A donation of R200 is required per set. If you or your company would like to donate to one of the projects, or to get involved as a sponsor for our 2022 fundraising event, please reach out to us via the contact details on our website or through our social media profiles on Facebook or Instagram. If you have any questions, pop as a message and we will respond promptly.
Alternatively, if you are looking for a more hands-on approach, please reach out and join us as a volunteer. It won’t always be pretty – at times we laugh, other times we cry, but at every moment in between, we love with everything we have.
The Saving Angels will go above and beyond to help children in the community wherever we can. And boy, do we have a lot of giving on our agenda!
Our Winter Drive will conclude in June… Monitor our progress via our social media pages and keep an eye out on this blog for the next success story!
